Kilkerran Work In Progress 5 - Bourbon Wood Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Out of stock
Distilled at Glengyle Distillery in Campbeltown and bottled in 2013 at 46% ABV, this release forms part of the Kilkerran “Work In Progress” series, a range created to showcase the developing spirit of the distillery while it waited for its first core 12-year-old expression to reach maturity. This edition was matured in bourbon wood and yielded 9,000 bottles.
The Work In Progress releases chart the early years of Kilkerran production following the reopening of Glengyle Distillery in 2004 by the Mitchell family, owners of Springbank. Each bottling offered enthusiasts a glimpse of how the spirit evolved through maturation before the eventual launch of the permanent range.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Golden amber with warm copper undertones and a honeyed glow.
Nose
Campbeltown in a glass: a waxy, lightly smoky aroma with a touch of leather. Rich and creamy, it unfurls hints of American cream soda, ripe apricot, dark fruit, and a subtle note of linseed.
Palate
Tangy orange and citrus marmalade lead the palate, with apricot jam adding lush sweetness. A coastal note of Campbeltown sea air lends weight and balance, finishing very smooth and fruity.
Finish
Bright and fresh, with a gentle sweetness that resolves to a dry, clean finish.
