A departure from Kilkerran's typically lightly peated single malt, their Heavily Peated Kilkerran is released twice per year at cask strength and around 45PPM. Although the maturation can vary, it is typically matured predominantly in Bourbon casks.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Golden amber with a warm copper glow, sunlit and inviting.
Nose
A slightly mineral lift opens the nose, peat smoke rising from the outset, with a malty, cereal undercurrent.
Palate
Orchard fruits layer beneath potently smoky peat, growing bolder into campfire embers on the palate. A malty backbone carries subtle vanilla and sweetness from the Bourbon cask, finishing warm and long with the smoke lingering gracefully.
Finish
A long, sweet finish lingers, peat smoke weaving through vanilla and caramel, with orchard-fruit sweetness persisting as a gentle ember-dusted fade.
