Kilkerran Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky (Old Bottling) 12 Year Old
Out of stock
The Glengyle Distillery was founded in 2004 by the Mitchell Family, who own the nearby Springbank Distillery. Their exceptional single malt whiskies are released under the Kilkerran brand. The 12 Year Old is oily, lightly peated, and has been matured in a combination of ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks. Always a great value dram!
Delicate yet multi-layered and very well made and thought out 12 year old offering from a distillery i expect great things from in the coming years.

Dave Broom says: ‘My second value for money whisky is Kilkerran 12-year-old. Not only a statement in terms of where the distillery is at and how its character is evolving, but a statement that value still exists within single malts.’.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Golden amber with a warm honey-glow and a subtle coppery shimmer.
Nose
Starts off very light and delicate but then reveals itself slowly with notes of freshly cut flowers, salty coastal nuances, fresh pink grapefruit, lemon barley squash, mint Turkish delight, green herbs, natural yoghurt and heather honey.
Palate
Fresh grapefruit drives the palate with white pepper and sea salt, weaving through dried apricot and pear drops, then an oily, menthol-laced core of vanilla and almond, with a bright citrus lift.
Finish
A bright, brisk finish unfolds like homemade lemonade, kissed by smoked sugared almonds and white pepper. Salted white grapefruit and lime reappear with minty herbs, while vanilla wafers lend a gentle sweetness as an oily coastal sea spray lingers on the palate.
