Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery highlights and a mahogany-tinged glow.
Nose
Opulent sherried aromas unfold with dark fruit sweetness—figs, raisins and candied orange peel—layered over chestnut oak with a hint of toasted almond. Rich toffee and cocoa mingle with polished leather and a whisper of spice, while warm alcohol lends a buoyant, radiant sherry glow.
Palate
Opulent and sherried on the palate, this 12-year Glenlochy unfurls a tapestry of dried fig, raisin and dark chocolate. Caramelized almond, polished oak and a touch of spice add depth, while the 65.3% cask-strength warmth sits gracefully in the frame. A velvety, mouth-coating oiliness leads to a long, warming finish, with resinous cacao and subtle leather lingering.
Finish
Long, luxurious finish with dark fig and blackberry, cloaked in cocoa and toasted almond. Sherry sweetness lingers, unfolding through spiced oak, with whispers of tobacco and leather in a warm, enduring fade.
