Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a warm bronze glow.

Nose

Fragrant with summer grass meadows and creamy vanilla, the nose unfolds in a bright bouquet. Hints of peppery spice and zingy citrus lift the profile, finishing with a touch of candied lemon sweetness.

Palate

Sweet and spicy, with an oily mouthfeel. Toffee apples, woody spices and hints of summer grasses emerge as a herbal, green finish.

Finish

Long and warming, the finish drapes the palate in vanilla and caramel from the Maker's Mark bourbon cask, unfurling gentle spice and a kiss of pepper. Citrus zest and herbal grasses linger, softened by creamy oak and a refined, sun-warmed sweetness that trails away gracefully.

(glen-AL-a-key) Built in 1967 near Aberlour, it spent much of its life producing whisky for blends rather than building a big name as a single malt in its own right. That changed in 2017, when Billy Walker, Trisha Savage and Graham Stevenson bought the distillery and began reshaping it around a more flavour-led, hands-on vision.
