Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber-gold with coppery glints and a whisper of mahogany.

Nose

Elegant aromas of dried apricots mingle with malted milk biscuits and toasted bread, a whisper of orange marmalade. A touch of nuttiness and sultanas, all harmoniously integrated.

Palate

Velvety, well-balanced and malty, with juicy warmth and toffee notes. Milk chocolate mingles with sultanas and raisins, crowned by a gentle hint of nutmeg.

Finish

Slightly creamy toffee lingers, with a bright note of orange and a whisper of nutmeg.

(koo BOH-kan) Cù Bòcan is Tomatin’s lightly peated Highland single malt, launched in 2013 after the distillery recognised the quality of the peated spirit it had been producing for one week each year since 2005. Named after a ghost dog said to haunt the village of Tomatin, it is made with lightly peated Scottish barley and distilled every winter in limited batches, creating a style built around subtle smoke and balanced sweetness rather than heavy peat.
