Cu Bocan Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky 1990 Vintage
In stock
Cu Bocan (peated Tomatin) have produced this vintage, very limited edition, 28 year old bottling. Only 1400 bottles have been produced, so snap this one up fast! Interestingly, this particular whisky has been matured in ex- Islay Bourbon casks (rumoured to be from Ardbeg) for added coastal flavours. Lots of tropical bourbon cask notes, coconut, vanilla, bananna and pear to start. The smoke is delicate like a the embers of a dying bonfire but it's there. Floral and fruity on the palate in the Tomatin style, mango, pear but also a coastal note, saline and slight bbq notes. A touch of leather and ash on the end. The finish is fresh with spice and old wood.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Sunlit amber-gold with coppery warmth, a honeyed glow that deepens to bronze at the rim.
Nose
Exotic tropical fruit greets the nose—coconut, vanilla, banana and pear—bright, creamy and inviting. A coastal saline thread carries a whisper of smoke, like embers of a fading bonfire. Floral lifts mingle with a touch of subtle peat spice, hinting at maritime Highland character and the Islay-influenced cask maturity.
Palate
Tropical bourbon notes—coconut, vanilla, banana and pear—lead with a gently maritime edge. Floral Tomatin fruitiness returns with mango and pear, tempered by coastal saline and a whisper of BBQ smoke. Leather and ash surface in the finish, while the palate stays fresh with nuanced spice and hints of old wood.
Finish
Fresh with spice and old wood.
