The coastal Highland distillery of Macduff is the latest addition to the 2019 Dun Bheagan releases. Aged for 27 years in a single Sherry Butt (#4584), this is a fantastic price for such a well aged sherried malt. Just 634 bottles were produced at a natural bottling strength of 49% ABV.

Deep amber with a coppery shimmer and mahogany edges, a rich sherried chestnut glow.
Nose
Opulent sherry perfume floods the nose: prune, fig and raisin mingle with orange peel, dark chocolate and toffee. Toasted almond and cedar provide warmth, while a touch of leather and spice—cinnamon and clove—lends depth. A whisper of coastal brine lingers, wrapped in rich, well‑aged oak.
Palate
Opulent and velvety on the palate, this Macduff unfolds rich sherry sweetness with fig, raisin and orange zest. Deep toffee and dark chocolate mingle with warm spices—cinnamon, clove, nutmeg—while a whisper of maritime brine lifts the notes. Polished tannins frame a long, refined finish at 49% ABV.

Long, opulent finish drenched in sherry fruit—fig, cherry and cocoa—with toffee, orange zest and spice-kissed oak. A maritime whisper lingers alongside espresso bitterness, finishing in a warm, lasting glow.
