Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with a luminous copper-gold core and a whisper of mahogany at the rim.

Nose

Warm buttery biscuits with a delicate sea salt tang rise from the glass, a comforting, coastal aroma.

Palate

Raisins and butterscotch lead the palate, with dark chocolate and a saline sea salt echo enriching the sweetness; a long, balanced finish with a gentle warmth.

Finish

A lengthy, dry finish unfolding with mild black pepper and a touch of leather, leaving a refined, tactile warmth that lingers on the palate.

Macduff
(Mac-Duff) The Glen Deveron / MacDuff distillery was founded in 1962. However the first spirit actually flowed from their stills on 30 June 1960. One of the youngest distilleries in Scotland and seems to have changed its name more often than most other, much older distilleries. They kept changing the official name from Glen Deveron to MacDuff and back again.
