Tasting Notes
Colour
Golden straw with warm amber hues.
Nose
Intense peat smoke and sea-salt air, kissed with iodine and mineral brine. Beneath a veil of malt, vanilla and toffee drift with citrus zest, while a peppery spice lingers. The Islay maritime character is polished and bold, hinting at the single-cask intensity and cask-strength concentration.
Palate
Powerful Caol Ila peat and coastal smoke sweep the palate, carried by medicinal iodine and sea-salt brine. Layers of lemon zest, vanilla and oak sweetness unfold, then a peppery, resinous finish with tar, ash and lingering mineral salinity.
Finish
Long, maritime smoke lingers, threaded with sherry-softened sweetness. Dried fig, cocoa and treacle weave through the heat, while pepper and mineral notes trail in a briny, lacquered finish that remains warm and persistent.
