The Hepburn’s Choice range comprises whiskies bottled either from specially-selected single casks or from small batches of two to three casks. Always bottled at 46% alcohol, and naturally without artificial colouring or chill-filtration. From the Islay region this Hepburns Choice bottled from only two casks comes from Caol Ila distillery. Distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2020 this 10 year old is one of only 648 bottles.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery sheen and a hint of ruby mahogany, a burnished-gold core glowing in the glass.
Nose
Peat smoke and brine surge, carrying Caol Ila’s coastal iodine and medicinal notes. The Port finish floods in with plush red fruits—plum, cherry, raspberry—plus fig and a hint of vanilla, resting on warm oak. A cocoa-tinged sweetness threads through, deepening the smoky core without dulling its edge.
Palate
Smoke and sea-salt meet a port-soaked fruit core: black cherry, plum, and raisin mingle with cocoa and a whisper of spice. The peat remains restrained, delivering iodine and citrus zest into a velvety, full-bodied mouthfeel. Long, warm, and smoky, with a lasting port-driven sweetness.
Finish
An enveloping coastal smoke lingers, tempered by port-driven sweetness. Dried plum and raisin thread through the peat, with hints of cocoa and orange zest. Oak spices carve a long, refined finish, a saline whisper echoing the Islay shores.
