This exceptional 35-year-old Caol Ila from Whiskyland’s Chapter Twenty Eight is a beautifully mature Islay single malt, distilled in 1990 and drawn from a single refill hogshead. Bottled at natural cask strength, it offers a more subtle and fruit-led take on aged Caol Ila, with an elegant, old-school character reminiscent of classic 1970s Islay styles.

Expect refined coastal notes, gentle smoke, soft orchard fruits and delicate oak influence. A stunning, well-balanced whisky with remarkable depth, released in a strictly limited outturn of just 226 bottles.

Caol Ila
(kowel-EEL-ah) Caol Ila was founded in 1846 by Hector Henderson near Port Askaig on Islay’s east coast, overlooking the Sound of Islay between Islay and Jura. Its Gaelic name refers to that stretch of water, and the site was chosen with access to sea transport and a water supply from Loch nam Ban. Ownership changed early, passing to Norman Buchanan in 1854 and then to Bulloch Lade & Co in 1863.
