The Caol Ila Distillers Edition is a limited edition release that’s matured in American oak and finished in Moscatel wine casks.
Brilliantly clean and refined, it delivers a deep, sweet and smoky flavour profile that suggests the intense, saturated colours of late afternoon sunshine after a storm has passed. Its sweetness and maltiness strike first, then are quickly overwhelmed by peat smoke and intense, clean, crisp flavours.

Bright, perfumed nose of honeyed malt, ripe orchard fruit and Muscatel grape, with a subtle vanilla fragrance. A whisper of peat smoke and coastal salt lends depth, hinting at Islay’s maritime character beneath a clean, refined sweetness.
Palate
Sweet malt leads the palate, then a bold wave of peat smoke rises, pairing with bright, crisp flavours. Moscatel cask influence threads a subtle, luscious sweetness beneath the smoke, finishing clean, long and refined.
Finish
Long and refined, the finish drapes sweet Moscatel fruit over waves of Caol Ila peat. The wine-cask sweetness lingers softly, while the smoke remains clean and crisp, tapering to a warm, malt-kissed fade.
