This Single Malt from Caol Ila has spent forty long years maturing in a Refill Hogshead. It was distilled in September 1980 and bottled in June 2021. Only 206 bottles exist globally. On the nose, expect immediately oceanic West Coast of Scotland character, with enticing yet subtle phenols coming through. The palate reveals leather, malted barley, spices and a honey-glazed smoked meat quality. the finish is exceptional, with more peat smoke, dried citric fruits and oak bonfire embers. Truly delicious.
