Deep amber with coppery mahogany undertones.
Nose
Sea-salted peat and coastal iodine anchor the aroma, while Pedro Ximenez sweetness unfolds. Dried fig, raisin and prune mingle with treacle and toffee, lifted by cinnamon and clove. Toasted oak adds warmth, a subtle leather note, and a final kiss of vanilla, delivering smoky Islay character with wine-dark richness.
Palate
Silky yet powerful on the palate, this Caol Ila coats the mouth with Pedro Ximenez sweetness—figs, raisins and treacle—layered over the distillery’s characteristic peat. Briny sea spray, iodine and subtle spice provide contrast, while the 54.6% ABV lends a warming, peppery spine. The wine-shaded sweetness lingers with a smoky, coastal finish.
Finish
Long, warming finish of peat and sea-salted smoke, layered with PX-dried fruit, figs and raisins, and a ribbon of spice. The sweetness tapers to subtle oak and pepper, leaving a resinous, maritime glow that lingers.
