A single cask Balblair distilled in 1970 and bottled 35 years later. This is bottle number 132 from a Bourbon hogshead. Bottled at 44.2%

Rich golden honey in appearence with toffee, vanilla and tropical fruit on the nose. Smooth and rich on the plate with highland fudge, apricots, cream, walnuts and butter pastry. The finish is light, satisfying and slightly drying.

Rich golden honey on the nose, lifted by toffee and vanilla with tropical fruit notes, suggesting a sun-warmed, inviting sweetness.

Palate

Silky and generously weighted on the palate, this Balblair delivers creamy vanilla and rich toffee, with apricot and tropical fruit emerging gracefully. It glides through Highland fudge, cream, walnuts and butter pastry, creating a luxurious mouthfeel that lingers with a light, slightly drying finish.

Finish

A light, satisfying finish with a delicate drying edge that lingers softly on the palate, inviting another sip.

Balblair
(bal-BLAIR) Balblair was founded in 1790 by John Ross at Edderton in the Northern Highlands, overlooking the Dornoch Firth. The distillery remained with the Ross family through much of the 19th century, before being rebuilt in 1894 closer to the railway while continuing to use water from the Allt Dearg burn. Later owners included Hiram Walker, and Inver House Distillers acquired Balblair in 1996.
