In 1964 the Beatles were having a Hard Day's night. Lyndon Johnson was in the White House by a landslide; Harold Wilson in No. 10 by a hairsbreadth.
In Aberlour village distillery manager lan Mitchell received the important news he was hoping for. While farmers in the garden of Scotland harvested barley under blue, balmy skies dress designer Genreich was raising temperatures with the topless swimsuit.
Aberlour's distiller crushed the ears between his palms and passed them round. Everyone agreed that it was a crop of outstanding quality, As the Highland sun turned a watery Autumn gold, Oliver dazzled in Othello. By the time the trouser suit was born, the cool waters of the Spey were running outside the distilery gates with an exceptional purity.
The year had brought reports of Aberlour's shy salmon openly sporting themselves in the clear water. Winston Churchill made his farewell speech to Parliament. Sonny Liston failed to come out for the seventh and Krushchev went out for the count. In the quiet of our distillery, nature had conspire. to end a hand.
The year's harvest, resting safely in oak casks, promised to be a classic single malt of superb vintage. In 1964 we failed to win the Ashes but struck gold in the Tokyo Olympics. Twenty five years on, Aberlours unforgettable year has reached exceptional maturity. We now believe with great confidence that we too have made our own contribution to history.

Colour
Deep burnished amber with coppery highlights and a mahogany glow.
Nose
Opulent and poised, the nose unveils dark fruit compote—prune, raisin and fig—brightened by orange zest and toffee. Sherry sweetness threads through almond, cocoa and vanilla, bound by polished oak and a hint of spice, culminating in a refined, lingering warmth.
Palate
Velvet, full-bodied palate unfolds with luxurious sherried sweetness and refined oak. Rich dark fruits—prune, fig, cherry—layer with cacao and burnt sugar, carried by orange zest and a whisper of spice. Silky tannins from the oak frame a creamy, orchard-bred sweetness, leading to a long, warm finish tinted with cocoa nib and a final touch of clove and cedar.
Finish
Silky, long finish that carries sherry-soaked fruit and spice. Dark raisin, fig, and orange peel unfold alongside cocoa and warm oak, lingering with velvet sweetness. The warmth remains elegant and nutty, inviting another contemplative sip.
