Bottled for Murray McDavid’s Benchmark series, this Aberlour was distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2026 at 11 years old. Finished in Ximénez-Spínola Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and bottled at 57.2% ABV, it was released in an outturn of 901 bottles.
Pedro Ximénez casks are a natural fit for Aberlour’s rich Speyside style, bringing layers of dark fruit, chocolate and sweet spice while keeping the whisky’s rounded character intact. The result is a full-bodied, sherry-led dram with plenty of richness and depth, but enough structure to stay polished.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Dense, dark amber with mahogany undertones and a glossy chestnut glow.
Nose
Raisins mingle with dark toffee, orange peel and cocoa, layered over polished oak. A velvety sherry lift envelops the aroma, hinting at treacle and spice while remaining refined and inviting.
Palate
Rich and mouth-coating, with notes of dried fruit, treacle, dark chocolate and sweet spice, underpinned by polished oak.
Finish
Long and warming, with lingering PX sweetness, oak and gentle cocoa bitterness.
