Aberlour Double Cask Matured Single Malt Scotch Whisky 15 Year Old
In stock
The St Drostan's Well, found in the grounds of the Aberlour Distillery, marked the source of an exceptionally pure spring. Indeed, we use the same water today to produce our outstanding whisky. The name Aberlour comes from the Gaelic translation of "Mouth of the Chattering Burn".
This site in Aberlour was the inspiration for James Fleming to build a distillery in 1879, A quiet unassuming man, James Fleming left a lasting mark on the village of Aberlour. He lived up to his family motto Let the Deed show' which appears on every bottle today.
This 15 year old Aberlour has been matured in both bourbon and sherry casks for fourteen years and then aged for a further year in specially selected Oloroso casks. These casks are the rarest and most expensive used for the maturation of whisky.
Our Master Distiller, Douglas Cruickshank goes to Spain every year to select the best casks. The double maturation adds depth of character as well. as distinctive fruits and spices. Aberlour is the only single mait to have been awarded 5 gold medals and 2 Pot Still Trophies at the prestigious International Wine and Spirit Competition.
