Master Distiller Robert Fleming created this small batch bottling by specially selecting Tomintoul aged in exceptional ex-bourbon American oak casks, which are then married & finished in hand selected Pinot Noir wine barrels from Burgundy, France.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Golden-amber with warm copper undertones and a subtle ruby glow at the edge.

Nose

A fragrant bouquet of summer berries and red grapes, woven with filo pastry and baking spices, lifted by a whisper of salted caramel.

Palate

Sweet baked strawberry and glace cherries unfold with blackcurrant liquorice, woven with earthy oat flapjacks, and given edge by tobacco and oak spice, finishing with a warm, nuanced balance.

Finish

Warming clove and wood spices mingle with bramble, vanilla pod and ginger biscuits, leaving a softly spiced finish.

Tomintoul
(TOM-in-tool) Tomintoul was founded in 1964 by the Glasgow whisky brokers Hay & MacLeod and W&S Strong, with production beginning in 1965 near the village of Tomintoul in Speyside. The distillery was part of the post-war expansion of Scotch whisky, built to meet growing demand for malt, and its site was chosen close to the Ballantruan Spring in the Cairngorms. Ownership later passed through Whyte & Mackay, before Angus Dundee Distillers bought Tomintoul in 2000.
