Tomintoul has long been associated with a softer Speyside style, and Angus Dundee describes the whisky as exceptionally smooth and well balanced. The distillery sits near what the company calls the highest village in the Highlands, and Robert Fleming, a fourth-generation Speyside distiller, has overseen production there for more than 30 years. The range has gradually expanded under Angus Dundee, giving Tomintoul a clearer identity as a single malt after much of its earlier life was spent supporting the wider Scotch trade.
In 2025, the distillery marked 60 years of whisky making and 25 years under Angus Dundee.
