This single cask of Tomintoul 50 Year Old has been specially selected to commemorate Master Distiller, Robert Fleming's, 50 years in the Scotch Whisky industry.

Personally hand-selected by Robert, this Pedro Ximenez sherry single cask yielded only 253 decanters. It has been bottled at its natural cask strength and is natural in colour.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Dark, natural amber with mahogany depths and coppery-red glints.

Nose

Rich and aromatic, the nose unfolds with maple syrup sweetness, sticky toffee pudding, spiced fruits and banana bread, a warm, inviting bouquet hinting at Pedro Ximenez sherry influence.

Palate

Silky, sweet and warming, offering hints of chocolate ganache, Black Forest gateau, manuka honey with dried figs and gingerbread.

Finish

Complex and long-lasting with lingering flavours of fruit cake, cappuccino, black cherry and candied pecans.

Tomintoul
(TOM-in-tool) Tomintoul was founded in 1964 by the Glasgow whisky brokers Hay & MacLeod and W&S Strong, with production beginning in 1965 near the village of Tomintoul in Speyside. The distillery was part of the post-war expansion of Scotch whisky, built to meet growing demand for malt, and its site was chosen close to the Ballantruan Spring in the Cairngorms. Ownership later passed through Whyte & Mackay, before Angus Dundee Distillers bought Tomintoul in 2000.
