Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep copper-amber with a glossy ruby-gold core and mahogany-tinted edges, a rich sherried glow hinting at bold, velvety depth.
Nose
Chocolate covered raisin, ginger biscuits melted in mocha/latte, aromatic spices (clove/nutmeg/cinnamon) fig jam on sultana bread toast, leather and walnut.
Palate
A bold burst of aromatic spice coats the palate, delivering mouthfilling notes of aniseed, rum and raisin chocolate, preserved figs, caramelised peaches in thick syrup, walnut, mocha, praline and sticky dates.
Finish
Opulent and long, the finish lingers with bitter chocolate and fig jam, then unfolds into French toast with dark honey, walnut and ginger. Treacle sponge cake and sherry-soaked raisins weave through, crowned by a playful Coke-bottle fizz and a final kiss of aromatic spice.
