The 2nd in Teeling's limited release Single Malt range, Brabazon. This series focuses on the impact fortified wine casks can have on Irish Single Malts.
This particular release is looking at the impact of Port casks, as such this whiskey has stock that has been wholly matured in port pipes as well as finished in the said casks and blended together from a range of differing vintages.
The result is a big bold and rich whiskey. Cream, jam, chocolate and ripe fruits (orange, black and redcurrant) on the nose. The palate shows more fruity overtones, raspberry, pineapple, pear in sugar and spicy oak, nutmeg. The finish has a real cherry and chocolate crumble feel with sweet sugar to end.
