The birdfeeder special release, Redbreast 12 boasts the flavour complexity and distinctive qualities of Pot Still whiskey.

Made from a mash of malted and unmalted barley and then triple distilled in copper pot stills, Redbreast 12 boasts the flavour complexity and distinctive qualities of Pot Still whiskey. Matured in a combination of Bourbon seasoned American Oak barrels and Oloroso Sherry seasoned Spanish oak butts, the distinctive Redbreast sherry style is a joy to behold in each and every bottle.

Rich amber with copper-gold highlights and a mahogany undertone, a warm, sherry-kissed glow.

Nose

A complex bouquet of warm spices and ripe fruit, with toasted oak lending depth.

Palate

On the palate it unfolds as full, complex and silky smooth, with a harmonious balance of spicy warmth, orchard fruit sweetness, and sherry-driven depth, finished by toasted oak and subtle nutty notes.

Finish

Satisfyingly long, the finish unfolds with a spice-driven chorus of fruit, sherry depth and toasted oak, lingering warm and silky as the final echoes caress the palate.

Redbreast traces its roots to W & A Gilbey, the wine and spirits merchant that began selling Jameson whiskey under its own labels in the late 19th century. The first official use of the Redbreast name appears in 1912, when Gilbey’s was selling Redbreast J.J. Liqueur Whiskey 12 Years Old. The name itself is linked to the robin redbreast and is attributed to a former Gilbey chairman who was known as a bird-fancier.
