Green Spot Montelena has initially been matured in traditional sherry and bourbon casks, then finished for 12 months in French oak Zinfandel wine casks from the prestigious Chateau Montelena in Napa Valley, California.
Zinfandel casks are adding an exciting new dimension to this Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey already renowned for its excellent quality.
This rare cask finish contributes pomegranate, cranberry and maraschino cherry on the nose, a dry note to the silky mouthfeel and the finish combines classic long pot still spice flavours with a delicate wine influence, all in perfect harmony.

Tasting Notes
Nose
Crisp oak with vanilla, white chocolate and marshmallow, layered with Green Spot red apples and ripe pears. Pomegranate, cranberry and maraschino cherry emerge from the Zinfandel wine cask, lending a bright, wine-kissed fruitiness to the nose.
Palate
Silky sweetness coats the palate, then dries with the wine cask influence. Pot still spices recede as zesty citrus energizes ripe orchard fruit and red berries. A delicate note of marzipan lingers alongside toasted oak, adding depth and a poised, subtly spiced finish.
