Green Spot Quails' Gate Pinot Noir Wine Cask Finish Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey
In stock
Released in 2023, this special edition of Green Spot Irish Whiskey was created in collaboration with Quails’ Gate Winery in Canada. Produced at the Midleton Distillery, the whiskey is a traditional single pot still Irish whiskey, initially matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks before receiving a finishing period in Pinot Noir wine casks from Quails’ Gate. Bottled at 46% ABV, the finish adds an extra layer of vibrant fruit and subtle tannic structure to the classic Green Spot style.
Green Spot is one of the historic “Spot” whiskeys originally developed by Dublin wine merchants Mitchell & Son, who matured whiskey in their own wine casks beneath the streets of Dublin during the 19th century. The name comes from the coloured paint marks placed on casks to indicate ageing potential, a tradition that still defines the range today.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Rich amber-gold with a coppery glow and a subtle ruby edge, a warm, wine-kissed hue.
Nose
Oak envelops ripe cherry and fresh raspberry, with crisp apple and pear notes; woodland spice and sweet vanilla mingle, elevated by a hint of red wine.
Palate
Silky, mouth-coating with dried cranberries and red apple at the core, lightly spiced by clove and grated nutmeg. Juicy fruit persists into seasoned oak and crisp barley, delivering a sweet, polished palate that balances elegance with a hint of warmth and subtle wood spice.
Finish
Toasted oak and delicate pot‑still spice recede, leaving a final kiss of red‑wine fruit—cherry, cranberry and apple—woven with subtle tannins that linger gracefully.
