Tasting Notes

Colour

Rich amber-gold with luminous copper highlights.

Nose

A vivid, perfumed nose of white pepper and grated lemon peel, gently lifted by lapsang tea smoke, with a whisper of herbs and playful hints of cola cubes and sherbet powder.

Palate

Aniseed and spices mingle with tobacco leaf, giving way to sun-kissed summer fruits and strawberry pavlova, with a crisp Ritz cracker snap.

Finish

A long, dry spiciness lingers, with dried fruit leaving a lasting impression on the finish.

Waterford
Waterford was founded in 2015 by Mark Reynier in a converted former Guinness brewery in the city of Waterford. Reynier had previously led the revival of Bruichladdich on Islay, and he built Waterford around the idea that barley variety, soil and microclimate should be treated as part of whisky flavour rather than as interchangeable raw material. Waterford distilled its first spirit in 2016 and released its first whiskies in 2020.
