Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep mahogany amber with coppery highlights and a warm, honey-gold glow.
Nose
Dark sherry-soaked aromas rise from the glass: plum and fig, raisin and orange zest, woven with almond, vanilla custard, and cocoa. Spices—cinnamon and clove—linger over polished oak, with a faint tobacco note. A refined, 40-year-old grain bouquet—rich, warm, and gracefully aged, inviting slow sips.
Palate
Silky, full-bodied palate with dried fig and raisin, orange zest and toffee, cloaked in a rich sherry aura. Creamy vanilla, almond and spice braid through the oak, delivering a luxurious, velvety texture. The finish is long and warm, with cocoa, dried fruit and a hint of tobacco lingering.
Finish
An opulent, enduring finish that clings with warmth and grace. Dried fruit, orange zest and vanilla unfold into cocoa and caramel, while sherry oak adds a subtle dry tannin. Spiced almonds and a whisper of espresso linger as sweetness fades, leaving a refined, long-lasting echo of oak spice and barley sweetness.
