Stauning Sweet Wine Cask Floor Malted Danish Rye Whisky
Out of stock
Stauning Rye Wine Cask is released as a Limited Edition of only 2,909 bottles.
The whisky is made from West Jutland rye and barley harvested on the fields surrounding the village of Stauning.
The whisky is distilled over an open fire in small pot stills, imparting dark flavours such as chocolate, caramel and roasted nuts.
After three years on new American oak casks, the whisky was for two years on Marsala, Gewürtztraminer and Ramandalo barrels.
A gentle explosion of roasted rye kernels, ripe fruits, dark caramel and malt. On the nose, we find citrus, sweet berries and apples. Fruity and full bodied with ints of vanilla, cinnamon and pickled ginger with a bitersweet aftertaste.
