Stauning Bastard is a rye Whisky made purely of local ingredients to the distillery. After 3 years in new, toasted virgin American oak casks, the Whisky enjoys a 6 month finishing period in old mezcal casks from Oro de Oaxaca, Mexico.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-bronze hues and a warm honey-gold glow.
Nose
Sweet pipe tobacco smoke mingles with dried raisins and oat biscuit, lifted by citrus zest and a touch of oak—warm, inviting and subtly toasted.
Palate
Tobacco and vanilla open the palate, followed by toasted barley and dried fruit, with cinnamon and molasses lending warmth, and a lingering note of shortbread and oak.
Finish
Long and sweet, with a whisper of smoke and a saline edge, finished by pepper-led spice that lingers warmly on the palate.
