Ludlow Ruby Port Cask - Cask Strength Edition Single Malt English Whisky (Distillery Exclusive)

Ludlow's finest Distiller’s Cut English single malt whisky is lovingly handcrafted in the heart of the Welsh Marches using only two ingredients: the finest English and Scottish malted barley, and purified water, the Scottish malt having been slowly and gently smoked in a peat kiln. They carefully quadruple-distil their spirit, before ageing it in second-fill casks, which were used first to mature American bourbon and secondly Scottish whisky. This unique edition has then been cask finished in a ruby port cask. The glorious trinity: fine ingredients, refined craft and a little patience all combine to create a serious and perfectly balanced single malt.

Medium-bodied, ruby tinged amber.On the nose, currants, cinnamon buns with a touch of cinder. On the platae a a rich honeycomb, unctuous custard, heather, dried orange, morello cherries, overripe plum and dried fig. A long finish exploring notes of caramel, ginger, nutmeg and prune.
