About Ludlow
Ludlow Distillery is a Shropshire spirits producer based at Ludlow Farmshop in Bromfield, just outside the historic market town of Ludlow. The business began with Ludlow Gin, officially launched in 2018 by Shaun Ward, before expanding into whisky, rum, vodka, liqueurs, brandy and eau de vie. The distillery opened its new visitor site in 2023, bringing production, a shop, bar, tours and gin school together in one location.
Ludlow’s English single malt whisky is made in very small batches, using English malt alongside Scottish peated malt in its mash bills. Production uses a 200-litre German still with copper plates, with maturation and finishing across casks such as ex-bourbon, sherry, port, cider and other selected cask types. The whisky is bottled by hand, usually in limited cask-led releases, while Ludlow Gin remains centred on traditional copper-pot distillation and natural botanicals.
