Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep copper-amber with rich mahogany undertones, a warm, resinous glow.
Nose
Powerful coastal peat smoke and sea-salted iodine coalesce with rich sherry-tinged fruit, revealing dried plum and fig, dark chocolate and raisin. Underpinning oak and a touch of spice, the aroma hints at leather and tobacco, finished with a mineral, marine brightness that lingers.
Palate
Powerful, full-bodied palate of deep peat smoke and maritime iodine, softened by luscious sherried fruit: fig, dried cherry and cocoa. Rich vanilla and toasted oak mingle with spice, pepper and a hint of espresso, while a saline, mineral undercurrent carries the smoke into a long, warm finish.
Finish
Long, smoky finish with coastal salt and iodine, evolving into dark fruit and cocoa from the sherry oak. Thick peat oils coat the palate, yielding a resinous sweetness that lingers with toasted oak, spice, and a final whisper of sea breeze.
