The 13th of the official annual releases from the Port Ellen Distillery. One of the most rare and collectable whiskies in the world, Only 2,958 bottles of this single malt, which was bottled at cask strength, were ever produced. This was bottled as a 34 Year Old from a 1978 distillation.
A punchy and rich Port Ellen expression matured in refill American and European Oak casks. This has aromas of dark toffee, wood embers, roasted beef and hints of citrus. An intense palate with creamy fruit, notes of fresh lemons, butter, honeyed biscuits, espresso and sea salt on the palate. The finish is accented by mint, brassiness, green fruit, cloves, tar and ash.

Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a bronzed, satiny glow.
Nose
Dark toffee mingles with the glow of wood embers; roasted beef lends savory depth, while citrus hints spark a bright lift. Pure Islay character in a bold, mature bouquet.
Palate
Punchy and rich on the palate, it unfurls creamy fruit with bright lemon zest, buttered sweetness and honeyed biscuits, all carried by espresso depth and a coastal sea-salt lift, finishing with a lingering warmth from the cask and a subtle mineral bite.
Finish
Mint, brassiness, green fruit, cloves, tar and ash accent the finish, lingering with cool, coastal clarity.
