Port Charlotte Scottish Barley Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Out of stock
The first Port Charlotte release since Remy's aquisition of the Bruichladdich distillery. PC fans fear not, we can only see improvements to this Heavily Peated expression. The ABV has been incresed to 50% (applies to all of their core range) and produced using only Scottish barley with notes of refreshing lemon rind, oatmeal, fresh barley, seaweed with chilli flake and that lovely coastal peat (40ppm for PC).

Tasting Notes
Colour
Bright golden straw with a glistening amber edge.
Nose
Bright lemon rind pairs with fresh barley and oatmeal, while sea air and seaweed mingle with a hint of chilli flake. A coastal peat edge sharpens the aroma, delivering a bright, maritime, lightly smoky bouquet.
Palate
Bold, coastal peat coats the palate with a silky, oily texture. Bright lemon rind cuts through, followed by oatmeal and fresh barley sweetness. Seaweed notes mingle with a chilli warmth, while saline, coastal tang lingers, evolving into a long finish of citrus, smoke and salt.
Finish
Long, windswept finish of coastal peat and sea-salt, with lemon rind brightness and oats lingering on the tongue. Seaweed and a hint of chilli flake thread through the smoke, evolving into toasted barley sweetness. The finish remains airy yet persistent, leaving a mineral, maritime glow that fades to vanilla-tinged grain and a final whisper of smoke.
