Tasting Notes
Colour
Rich amber-gold with luminous copper highlights and a mahogany edge, a warm, inviting hue that hints at deep, rum-kissed maturity.
Nose
A waft of aromatic wood smoke entwines herbal notes with menthol and medicinal peat. Cocoa-rich chocolate adds depth, while stewed, spiced apples lend warmth. Very upfront and savoury, with a balanced sweetness lingering elegantly.
Palate
An oily, viscous mouthfeel coats the palate. Spiced apple strudel, a waft of lemon zest, cracked black pepper and herbal aromatic smoke mingle with zingy peat. With water, the rum cask influence blooms—barbecued sweet potato and banana emerge, a rounded sweetness and a distinct molasses-led depth coating the palate.
Finish
Long and smoky, with a subtle charred oak note and herbal savouriness that lingers on the palate.
