Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with coppery highlights and mahogany undertones, a warm, inviting glow.

Nose

Old leather, dark honey and ripe figs open the nose, with hints of earthy smoke, aromatic spice, antique oak, and sweet raisin and marzipan.

Palate

Dry and earthy at first, it opens to spicy dark fruit and red berries, with aromatic tobacco, leafy forest-floor notes, toasted oak and smoked treacle toffee.

Finish

Dark fig jam and chewy sherried oak give way to black cherry and marzipan on Christmas cake near a coal fire, with leather and smoked treacle lingering to a long, warming finish.
