Made exclusively from 100% Islay grown grain, Port Charlotte Islay Barley has been peated to 40ppm and made using Barley grown at Dunlossit, Kilohiarin and Sunderland Farms using Oxbridge and Publican Barley Varieties. Matured in 75% 1st fill American Whiskey casks and 25% in 2nd fill Wine caskks (Syrah & Figero).

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with coppery highlights and a touch of mahogany.
Nose
A whirlwind of earthy tarred peat smoke opens the glass, with bright lemon zest, peach and green grapes lifting the spirit. Vanilla pods, creamed coconut and chocolate hint at 1st-fill American oak. With time, lemon drizzle cake, white chocolate and peach yoghurt drift through, wrapped in a velvet layer of light smoke.
Palate
On the palate, coastal salt and dry smoke mingle with salted caramel and apple sauce. Lemon drops and boiled sweets drift through a light peppery spine, while the peat remains restrained, tar and charcoal rather than medicinal. Oak sweetness and Islay barley reveal peach and apple notes, finishing with a marine breeze, briny warmth, and lingering tar.
Finish
Tar and brine mingle with peat smoke, salted by coastal air. Coconut and tobacco surface as the finish lingers, evoking an Islay beach and a driftwood bonfire.
