Part of Diageo’s annual Distillers Edition range, this Dalwhinnie expression is a double-matured Highland single malt that builds on the distillery’s classic honeyed style. After its initial maturation in traditional oak casks, the whisky is finished in Oloroso sherry casks, adding additional depth, richness and gentle spice to the spirit. Bottled at 43% ABV, it offers a fuller interpretation of Dalwhinnie’s naturally smooth character.

Tasting Notes
Colour
A warm amber with honey-gold depth and coppery edges, a luxurious sherry-toned glow.
Nose
Lightly heathery and sweetly honeyed, the aroma is beautifully introduced by a nutty-fruity waft of Oloroso. Tropical fruit notes of banana and pineapple give it a really appealing character, further developed by hints of fresh apricots, walnuts, and a little wood spice.
Palate
Creamy-smooth and coating, it glides over the tongue with honeyed sweetness. Nutmeg and pepper-spice rise to the mid-palate as exotic notes of grape, peach and apricot unfold, supported by a gentle sherry depth.
Finish
Long, attractively sweet and malty, yet clean, with white pepper spiciness. The finish dries elegantly, and vanilla-rich oak spice lingers in the aftertaste.
