One of the distillery's core expressions, Port Askaig 100 Proof is a cask-strength Single Malt with notes of sweet fruit, peat smoke and minerality, making it a benchmark Islay Whisky and great everyday peaty dram. A consistent favourite among Whisky enthusiasts.
An initial sweet oakiness gives way to sweet, almost caramel peatiness along with lime zest, saltiness and brine. The palate is initially fresh, sweet and quite salty before the drying peat smoke comes through. Earthy and slightly bitter, the smoke element is more restrained than you might imagine. The finish is long drying and slightly salty with a lingering bonfire smoke.

Nose
Sweet oak and fruit open to caramel-peat with lime zest and briny salt. A mineral, coastal profile underpins a restrained peat smoke, yielding a bright, maritime Islay aroma.
Palate
Sweet oak and caramel melt into lime zest, salt and brine on the palate. Fresh and salty at first, then a drying peat smoke settles in—earthy and slightly bitter, yet restrained. The finish is long, dry and saline, with lingering bonfire smoke and mineral lift.
Finish
Long, drying finish with a subtle salty edge and a lingering bonfire smoke. Peat and mineral notes fade slowly, leaving a warm, resinous echo on the palate.
