Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery-bronze sheen and a touch of mahogany.
Nose
Coastal and commanding, this nose bursts with pine needles and spruce, edged by mezcal-like smoke. A bitter, tarry bite sits atop salty beach pebbles and gauze, lifted by lemon oil. With time in the glass, a sweeter facet emerges—lemon-spiked vanilla cream—softening the peat’s edge.
Palate
Very typically Laphroaig on the palate, and surprisingly not as spicy as the abv suggests. Iodine, tar and soot mingle with the dying embers of a peat kiln. A distinct sweetness emerges—saccharine lemon zest and green apple skin—brightening the smoke and lending a clean, persistent finish.
Finish
Long, enveloping smoke dominates the finish, a coastal peat burn with iodine and tar that lingers, touched by lemon-zested vanilla before fading to a maritime ash.
