Laphroaig The Wall Collection: Rope Single Malt Scotch Whisky 39 Year Old
In stock
The Wall Collection is a limited series of rare expressions celebrating the people, passion, and perseverance behind Laphroaig since 1815.
Each green bottle pays tribute to the black LAPHROAIG lettering on Warehouse No. 1, hand-painted by British artist Laura Carlin using the original wall paint.
The second release is inspired by the sherry casks’ journey to Islay aboard classic puffer boats, with a design featuring the ropes that once connected these two worlds.
Matured in Oloroso Sherry-seasoned European oak hogsheads and finished in Pedro Ximénez Sherry-seasoned European oak butts.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery highlights and a rich mahogany depth.
Nose
Coastal peat smoke and iodine rise with a noble sherry core. Oloroso-dried fruit sweetness—raisins and figs—with orange peel and velvet cocoa from PX. Oak, leather and a whisper of tar anchor the aroma, while sea-salt and breeze lift it to Islay’s rugged elegance. A mature, dignified nose that speaks of decades in sherry casks and the collection’s storied pedigree.
Palate
On the palate, a luxurious fusion of Laphroaig peat and sherry richness. Dark figs, raisins and cocoa ride a wave of smoky sea salt, with orange zest and toffee notes from the Oloroso and PX casks. A polished, medicinal spine persists, supported by velvety oak, yielding a long, warm finish that lingers in refinement.
Finish
An opulent, long finish of smoky Islay peat and maritime tang, layered with Pedro Ximénez richness. Dried fig, raisin and dark chocolate unfold on velvet sherry sweetness, while oak spice and a saline, mineral lift linger, drying to a warm, final ember.
