Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep burnished amber with copper-gold shimmer and a dusky mahogany edge.
Nose
Coastal peat smoke and iodine rise in a regal, maritime bouquet. Sherry notes bring dried fig and raisin, while vanilla, toasted oak, and a touch of cocoa add warmth. Subtle waxy resin and orange zest thread through, delivering a polished, lingering aroma that speaks of crown-worthy depth and Islay character.
Palate
Bold Islay peat and iodine flood the palate, with a briny sea-salt backbone. Sherry-matured sweetness of raisin and fig threads through, while dark chocolate, toffee and a whisper of vanilla unfold. Leather, spice and a subtle medicinal edge add depth as the mouthcoats linger; the finish is long, smoky, mineral, and warming, ending on a refined, peppery note.
Finish
Long and maritime, the finish pours peat smoke, iodine and sea-salt across the palate. Dark chocolate and dried fruit weave a regal sweetness, while peppery oak lends a sharpening edge. A warm, charcoal-smoked glow lingers, fading to a briny whisper with a final mineral kiss.
