Lagavulin 2013 Special Release Single Malt Scotch Whisky 37 Year Old · 1976 Vintage
Out of stock
The oldest official bottling of Lagavulin......ever!! Launched as part of the 2013 special releases from Diageo, this is an absolute diamond of a whisky.
Bottled at natural cask strength of 51% abv and matured in a combination of refill American oak and European oak casks. One of only 1868 bottles produced worldwide.
Oily and elegant on the nose with an earthiness and tobacco element. There is also a delicate sweetmess, sootiness and herbaceousness, very understated. The palate has a ashy quality, fruity with light grapefruit overtones. There is also slight coastal notes (oysters, rockpools) nuttiness and milk chocolate. Still a restrained balance to it.
The finish is very long, ashy and dry. A most complex and delicate, balanced whisky that would grace any shelf.
