Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep coppery amber with mahogany edges, a warm, sherry-kissed glow that glints ruby-bronze in the glass.
Nose
Peat smoke wafts with coastal brine, opening to rich sherry-influenced fruit: fig, raisin, and plum, kissed by dark chocolate and espresso. A ribbon of vanilla, toffee, and polished oak adds warmth, while iodine and a sea-salt lift keep the Islay character bright and enduring.
Palate
Silky peat smoke envelops the palate, unfurling dark prune and fig with raisin sweetness from the sherry finish. Salty coastal notes and iodine thread through, while cocoa, orange zest and spice add depth. The finish is long and refined, with lingering smoke, warmth and a touch of leather.
Finish
Long, smoky finish layered with luxurious sherry sweetness. Dried fig, cocoa and toffee mingle with Lagavulin’s signature peat and sea-salt tang, while warm spice and a final kiss of ash linger, fading into cocoa-dusted warmth.
