Colour

Bright straw-gold with a warm honey undertone.

Nose

Vivid orchard fruits—green apple, pear and peach—brighten with citrus zest, while vanilla, coconut and a touch of toffee from first-fill bourbon wrap the nose. Subtle oak spice and a whisper of smoke add refinement, finishing with a fresh, herbal lift.

Palate

Bright and fruit-forward, crisp green apple, pear and citrus mingle with peach and pineapple, lifted by a vanilla-rich sweetness from first-fill bourbon casks. Silky malt carries gentle oak and spice into a clean, long finish of orchard fruit and warm vanilla caramel.

Finish

Long, bright and fruit-forward, the finish carries orchard notes of apple, pear and citrus, wrapped in creamy vanilla and subtle oak. A gentle spice lingers, leaving a clean, refined sweetness and a warm bourbon kiss that slowly wanes.

(hah-koo-SHOO) Hakushu was founded in 1973 by Keizo Saji as Suntory’s second malt whisky distillery, built deep in the forests of the Southern Japanese Alps to mark 50 years since the founding of Japanese whisky. Created to produce a style distinct from Yamazaki, it was established in Yamanashi for its exceptionally soft mountain water and cool, misty climate, and has since become one of the defining names in Japanese single malt.
