Tasting Notes
Colour
Pale gold with a bright, sunlit glow, tempered by warm honeyed tones and a whisper of amber.
Nose
Brisk and brittle, this Glenkinchie offers a complex, superb nose with an exquisite balance of sweet and dry. Firmer, drier notes from crisp grape mingle with sweeter, nuttier echoes from malted barley and ex-bodega Amontillado cask wood, lending subtle toasty depth that enriches the aroma.
Palate
Dry, after an initial biscuit sweetness, the palate delivers an enormous malt character that dominates, with a delicate grape fruitiness lingering in the background. A subtle Amontillado-driven nuttiness threads through, finishing dry, refined and quietly crisp.
Finish
Very long, dry finish, oak-forward and persistent. A faint peppery spice lingers, lifting the malt and Amontillado-influenced depth.
