Glenallachie distillery has been offering up some exceptional Single Cask whiskies in the last few years and it looks like Ian Macleod have released another very good one here. Coming in at a healthy 23 years old this has beeen finished in a white wine cask after initialy being matured in American Oak. Bottled at cask strength and just 206 bottles have been produced.

Nose
Fresh, sun-kissed orchard fruit lifts the nose—ripe pear and white peach with citrus zest. Subtle vanilla and almond from the American oak mingle with a delicate white wine-cask brightness, weaving honeyed sweetness and a gentle kiss of spice for a clean, refined aromatic profile.
Palate
Powerful and luxurious on the palate, this opens with syrupy vanilla and toasted American oak, then lifts with the white wine finish—crisp pear, white peach, and citrus zest mingle with a kiss of almond. At cask strength, peppery spice threads through the fruit-forward core, delivering a long, warm finish of orchard sweetness and subtle oak.
