Extended maturation in a Pedro Ximenez puncheon brings deep dried fruit richness, syrupy sweetness and layered spice to GlenAllachie’s robust Speyside spirit. Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep, dark amber with mahogany and ruby hues, and a coppery glow.
Nose
An opulent nose of dried plum and raisin, fig paste and prunes, woven with syrupy PX sweetness and treacle. Notes of orange peel, vanilla, and polished oak mingle with warm spice—cinnamon, clove, nutmeg—while a roasted coffee edge and dark chocolate deepen the perfume. Complex, poised, and richly malt-forward.
Palate
Opulent dried fruit unfolds on the palate—prune, fig, raisin—woven with a syrupy PX sweetness. Rich toffee and treacle mingle with layered spice—cinnamon, clove, nutmeg—as polished oak adds vanilla and a whisper of cedar. Full-bodied and malt-forward, it coats the mouth with a velvety, chewy texture, finishing long, warm and elegantly complex.
Finish
Long and opulent, this finish is driven by PX sweetness—fig, raisin and date—interlaced with cinnamon, clove and toasted oak. The cask-strength warmth coats the palate, leaving a velvety syrup that slowly fades to dark chocolate, espresso and a resinous, wood-kissed glow. A refined, enduring finish that lingers with balance and quiet power.
